The Hispanic Business Student Association (HBSA)
The Hispanic Business Student Association at The University of Texas at Austin prides itself in a reputation filled with prestige and excellence for over the past 30 years. As one of the leading professional organizations on the UT campus, HBSA strives to develop its 150+ membership to excel throughout and beyond their college careers both in their professional and personal lives.
Christopher Lawrence Ochoa became heavily involved in HBSA taking an active role as a freshman. He later was elected on council as the Director of Public Relations for the 2006-2007 year and successfully managed the Campus Relations and Public Relations committees. It was that year where the organization set new milestones in winning the “Most Outstanding Organization” award presented by the Red McCombs School of Business and "Best Professional Organization" award presented by the University of Texas and the Office of the Dean of Students.



Omega Delta Phi Fraternity Inc.
The purpose of Omega Delta Phi is rooted in its dedication towards the needs and concerns of the community. Since founding in 1987, Omega Delta Phi has been an organization perpetually dedicated to the idea of constant growth and improvement in the lives of its membership and the community in which they reside in. The organization is widely recognized by the University of Texas at Austin for its "Young Knights" mentoring program, "Block Party" home renovation project, and their involvement with "Project," a community service based initiative hosted by the Student Volunteer Board (SVB).
As a member of this organization, Christopher Ochoa held multiple leadership positions and responsibilities. His most recent came as chairman of the “Miss Scarlet and Silver Scholarship Pageant,” a program that promoted women empowerment and helped raise funds for SafePlace, a local woman’s shelter in Austin, Texas.


The University of Texas Leadership Board (UTLB)
The University of Texas Leadership Board promotes leadership development by providing events and activities wherein members encourage active participation of UT students and organizations. UTLB is an official liaison between the Office of the Dean of Students and all registered student organizations.
Christopher Ochoa was heavily involved in the marketing and promotion of UTLB's signature workshops and events. Utilizing his marketing background he received from the McCombs School of Business, Christopher Ochoa designed and implemented unprecedented methods of advertising and promotion strategies resulting in overall optimization of the organization's exposure to University of Texas students.



Obama/Clinton CNN Presidential Debate Volunteer
On Thursday, Feb. 21, from 7-8:30 p.m. CST then senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama participated in a Democratic presidential primary debate at The University of Texas at Austin.
As a member of the University of Texas Leadership Board, Christopher Ochoa was granted the opportunity to volunteer on this momentous, historic occasion and had the pleasure of meeting both President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton after the debate ended.
